FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dear SCCS Community,

I am writing to welcome Cynthia Ranii as our newest member of the SCCS Board.  On October 11, the Board of Trustees appointed Cynthia to fill the at-large position vacated by Alisun Thomspon in late August.  We were very fortunate to have four dedicated community members participate in our application and interview process, each of whom have experiences and perspectives that would be assets to our district.

Cynthia brings a passionate and enduring commitment to public education.  She has deep and varied experiences working with diverse communities as a teacher, principal, and as a superintendent.  She also has experience serving on several community boards and a planning commission.  In addition, she served in the Peace Corps in Iran and was a member of Rotary International.  One of Cynthia's personal interests is table tennis.  Having competed around the world, Cindy won a Bronze Medal at the Parapan American Games and is the Bay Area Senior Women's Champion.

Cynthia will be sworn in at our next regularly scheduled Board meeting on 10/18/17.

We are grateful to have Cynthia join the SCCS team!

Best regards,

Kris Munro, Superintendent
