Westlake Elementary was built in 1960 & serves 466 students.
In 2016, after almost 20 years without a Bond investment, Westlake was facing urgent infrastructure needs. Teachers, students, staff, parents & neighbors prioritized a new wing of classrooms to replace aging portables, new roofing, parking & drop-off improvements, plumbing infrastructure replacement & improved campus security.
The project further included classroom & building modernizations,
a new electrical & data infrastructure, removal of portables,
and general modernizations
& refurbishments.
THE WORK.
Replaced: All Roofing
New sloped and flat roofing campus-wide for better learning spaces for a new generation of students.
Installed: New Accessiblity & Lift System
To provide full campus access for all students we installed a new access ramp.

New Efficient & Welcoming Lighting
Upgraded Ventilation & HVAC Systems
Interior Re-design & Beautification
Insulating Window Shades
New Environmentally Conscious Flooring
New Interactive Presentation Screens & Teaching Tools
New Sliding Whiteboards
Window Films to Boost Insulation & HVAC efficiency (did you know studies show learning ability plummets in rooms over 75 degrees?)
New Cabinetry & Storage Solutions
