COMPETITION RESOURCES

Each CTE class has the opportunity to participate in the Career Readiness Competition where one student from your class will receive a cash award. To participate in the Career Readiness Competition students write a resume, letter of introduction, and compete in a mock interview. This is a great opportunity to prepare for future job interviews and receive helpful feedback from your teacher and local community member volunteers.

PATHWAY TO CONTINUED EDUCATION

CTE classes can directly lead into further education at Cabrillo Community College. Many CTE classes offer Cabrillo College credit. In addition several CTE classes articulate with Cabrillo College so when students transfer to Cabrillo they do not need to take the entry level course in a sequence.

PORTFOLIO RESOURCES

All CTE students create a portfolio of work to showcase their newly gained career skills and reflect on their work. The portfolio is a required component of every CTE class. Below you will find resources to help you build your own portfolio.

BACK UP YOUR WORK

When you graduate from high school or leave the school district, you will need to back up your Google drive files in order to access your work. This is a very important step to consider. Create a personal Google account with a professional name to use for contacting employers in the future. Watch the video to the left to learn how to back up your work.
