Gault was built in 1928 & serves 300 students.

In 2016, after almost 20 years without a Bond investment, the school needed help. Teachers, students, staff, parents & neighbors prioritized the need for a new classroom a building to replace aging portables, replacement of Gault's iconic Mission tile roof, expanded & improved play areas and restoration of its historic exterior. We're well into the work of rejuvenating Gault and it's all thanks to you.

The Work.

Built: New Classroom Wing & Cafeteria Building

We were able to replace aging portables that had been used long past their lifespan and give students modern learning spaces.

The building also houses Gault's new cafeteria, which can better accommodate breakfast and lunch at school!

Replaced: Gault's Iconic Mission Tile Roof

To restore the grandeur of this historic neighborhood school, we replaced the red Mission style roof across the entire campus.

The roof was in need of replacement, and we are thrilled to have been able to restore this local landmark with its iconic roof.

Gault Bond Site Committee

Bond work is informed by the local input of the Bond Site Committee, which is usually made up of families and staff. The Bond Site Committee meets regularly with the Bond Core Team who plans and undertakes work with the Architect & Contractor, and plans for work and strategic direction is presented to the Santa Cruz City Schools Board of Trustees for approval. The Bond Site Committee is a vital part of the process, discussing and reporting the needs and want of the school community.
