Our District

Santa Cruz City Schools is composed of an elementary and a high school district governed by a common Board of Education and a general administrative staff. There are six schools serving nearly 2,220 students in the elementary district, including a Dual Immersion Program.The secondary district includes two middle schools, three comprehensive high schools, a continuation school, an independent studies program and a home school program with a combined population of approximately 4,540 students. One of our district goals is to recruit, select, and retain outstanding employees to educate and serve the students of Santa Cruz City Schools. Uniform/Williams Complaint

 

From the California Department of Education: "A complaint is a written statement alleging discrimination, harassment, or a violation of a federal or state law or regulation. Acomplaint must be filed by way of the Uniform Complaint Procedures (UCP)as written in the California Code of Regulations, Title 5, sections4600-4687. Issues that may involve filing a complaint using the UCP areunder various state and federal programs that use categorical funds such as Adult Education, Career Technical Education, Child Development,Consolidated Categorical Programs, Indian Education, Migrant Education, Nutrition Education, and Special Education. Title IX Regulations

 

Every school district that receives federal funding is required to designate and/or adequately train at least one employee to coordinate the recipient's Title IX responsibilities. Title IX regulations also require that the names and contact information of each Title IX Coordinator be made public by the educational institution.

Santa Cruz City Schools prohibits discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying based on actual or perceived ancestry, age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or association with a person or a group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics. This applies to all acts related to school activity or school attendance within a school under the jurisdiction of the superintendent of the school district. School personnel are required to take immediate steps to intervene when safe to do so when he or she witnesses an act of discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or bullying.
