LGBT Support

Santa Cruz City Schools is proud to be an environment where all feel welcome, all feel celebrated, and all feel represented. SCCS works actively to support the QSA/GSA/Rainbow Alliance at each of our secondary schools. We partner with the Diversity Center to bring opportunities and supports to our LGBTQ students and their allies. You can also contact your school counselor for assistance.

LGBTQ Task Force

The LGBTQ Task force was established in 2016-2017 to raise awareness and provide timely and appropriate support to LGBTQ+ students and families and SCCS staff. The Task Force is comprised of SCCS K-12 staff and community members. The Task Force has collaborative meetings throughout the school year to discuss how to improve LGBTQ awareness and support for LBGTQ students and families. Sub-Committees of the Task Force allow focused collaboration to meet Task Force goals. Updates from the LGBTQ Task Force are made to Superintendent and an annual report is made to the Board of Trustees.
