UCSC gives Bay View an Intro to Chinese!

Writer: Sam RolensSam Rolens
Bay View Elementary was treated to a presentation on conversational Mandarin form the UCSC department of applied linguistics this week.

That might sound a bit academic for an elementary school, but the University department came prepared with a lively, accessible assembly that brought the students in with games and dancing to bring the subject alive.

We're so happy to have this collaboration with higher education, and to make this connection as early as possible to our students - showing them that language is the doorway to learning!
